Winter Wanders 30-31 January 2010

Walk off the season's excess with Walk London's 8th weekend of free friendly led walks across London. Over thirty walks to choose from on the 7 routes that make up the 350 mile Strategic Walk Network for London. Look out for special walks 'Walking towards the Games' leading towards the site of the London 2012 Games.

Discover over 40 led walks covering 350 miles across the capital on the 6 routes of the Strategic Walk Network: the London LOOP, Capital Ring, Jubilee Walkway, South East Green Chain, Thames Path and Lea Valley Walk. Saturday is Get Walking Day and we are celebrating with the Ramblers short walks under 5 miles to encourage people new to walking. Look out for these and our 'special' walks where there are added attractions along the way. For a full schedule of walks and details of start times, meeting points etc. please see http://www.walklondon.org.uk/our_events_forthcoming.asp. We have introduced pre-registration for the most popular walks which are fast becoming oversubscribed.

We look forward to welcoming you on one of our many fascinating walks. Explore the changing landscape of the Lea Valley with Leigh Hatts, author of the guide to the valley; wonder at the pace of change on the Olympic Park from the Greenway on Capital Ring 14; enjoy the Thames and the City with our City Guides - more talk than walk; explore the Green Belt on the London LOOP and many wonderful country parks, woods and hidden gems. Find the monument to the abolition of slavery, cross the Meridian line in outer London, admire the view (of Windsor Castle on a clear day) from the Addington Hills in Croydon, discover the ancient forest at Havering and Hainault country parks with giant redwoods, and many more such delights.

Humanfish operate cycling routes from the mountains to the coastal area in Slovenia, which are popular, and would be happy to offer their expertise, services, pack up service and guides for long distance walks.  They have a lot to offer for walkers.  They have an excellent back up service with a minibus and also operate with small and friendly accommodation.  Slovenia is a walkers paradise and attracts trekkers and hikers.  Parts of the E6 and E7 long distance routes run through Slovenia.
